FACIAL PARESIS POST MASTOIDECTOMY

Facial paresis or paralysis were complication which might be unpredictable following mastoid surgery.
Even if you are operated by an experienced surgeon, the unwanted complication might be happened.
I want to tell you of an interesting case of my own ,who was a nurse in my hospital.
The paresis was almost complete a day following the surgery for a left mastoiditis.
I give her low power laser therapy and the result was a complete recovery.
Another recovery was found in a patient with otalgia and vertigo due to right mastoiditis with choleasteatoma ,who underwent mastoidectomy.
Again, low power laser is not as low as one may think of it!
