For nasopharyngeal cancer,the golden standard is radiation( eitther external radiation only or maybe combined with internal radiation(brachytherapy).

Most of the patients were diagnosed at the the late stage where a combination with chemotherapy were needed.

I was invited by Bing Wibisono,MD,Director of Laser Skin Center,Gading Pluit Hospital,Jakarta to deliver speech on the Seminar on Phototherapy in Skin Diseases last Saturday,April 28,2007.This is a new era for laser therapy in the field of Dermatology,where doctors may find some difficult to treat lesions and diseases.
A friend of mine named Benny Wiryadi MD,PhD an expert in psoriasis talked about the story behind this autoimmun process of the disease.It is along way and of a long list of treatments of psoriasis :creams,ointments,lotions,shampoos etc.(topical) and oral psoralen,injections(systemic),phototherapies(ultraviolet).
Patients come and go to consult the doctor with a hope to have a longer remission.
A monochromatic excimer light with its 308 nm wavelength will give a rapid and effective treatment in resistance psoriasis.
Another indications for MEL@308 nm are:vitiligo,alopecia areata,atopic dermatitis.
